Are shelving bins still a novelty? Not anymore, because it has invaded homes, offices and warehouses. We are very familiar with the different kinds of bins. We know that bin invention had addressed many organizing needs of a person in the house, office or warehouse. As the utility of this ware becomes popular, they were innovated to fit more purposes. Shelving bins are one of the advance innovations in the world of bins.
Shelving bins are great help to organize and sort out various consumption products. They undeniably brought tidiness to an otherwise chaotic place. Today, there are a wide variety of bins, including the shelving bins which found their way in so many stores and shops.
What materials are used in the manufacture of shelving bins?
- Fiberboard or cardboard – Usually these are made of corrugated three-sheet high grade cardboard. Do not be surprised if you find this paper product durable. - Plastic – They are made of thermoplastic polymer, the polypropylene. When the shelving bins are made from this material, rest assured that the bins are waterproof and are resistant to oil, grease and any other chemicals. They also come in different sizes, whatever size is required by their shelving unit. This type of shelving bins is more aesthetically appealing because polymer can be chemically produced in different colors. Most of these shelving bins can fit into a 12”, 18” or 24” deep shelving racks. The bins themselves are reinforced with ribbed designs to give additional strength for those in heavy duty purpose.
- Aluminum and steel – there are some kinds of shelving bins made from the heavier steel. There are also some made from aluminum. But this type of shelving bins is uncommon in the market. The demand for them is not high as compared to the plastic kind.
The shelving bins can come as a single unit or they can have dividable grids. Most of then have hopper front and have write-on space on the front to allow you to label the stored goods.
There are different kinds of shelving units for the shelving bins. You can install these bins in a louver or bench rack. The shelving unit can be made of wire, plastic, steel or metal. The shelving unit can be plain horizontal or could be slanted. The latter kind allows better view of the stored goodies.
